I was watching Pulp Fiction last night and Samuel L. Jackson quotes the bible before slaughtering some guy. I thought it was a good example of blasphemy, transgression of the profane into the sacred. Also, some of Tarantino's shots are incredibly long; I wouldn't have noticed before this class.
This is one of my favorite movies, and your post just gave me a new perspective on it! Thanks, Jordan.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted this because I had a serious laugh over it. I probably quote this movie more than anything else in my life.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I like the his final spiel at the end of the movie:

" The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin, Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd."
Haha love it!
