Question 2

In chapter 3 Barry talks about the sacred places that are within nature. One of the examples he gives as being a sacred place is in high places. So maybe on top of a mountain would be a sacred space for some. There are numerous of mountains that are in the bible like Mount Zion or Carmel. They are thought at times to provide shelter from intruders and it is also thought that these high places are homes to Gods and demons. It seems that Catholicism is a main denomination of christianity that was a believer in mountains. There are many religious sites that are important to catholicism that are on mountains. Such as Saint Paul's monastery and Saint John's of the cross's ascent on Mount Carmel. There are many mountains when it is dealing with catholicism. I definitely would say these sacred spots are still important to this day. In catholicism things don't just become un-sacred. If something happened there that was of importance from the bible than that place shall remain sacred.
